   You were banned less than a month ago under the name "Korean Dave." We're not running a revolving door system here. If we ban someone from the board, we're not going to let them walk right back in wearing a fake mustache and pretend they're a completely different person.    You should ask Nelson C that question, he can go on about this for days. Honestly, I don't think it's even close - and I doubt you'd find many people over the age of 21 who aren't Lakers fans willing to argue that Kobe's anywhere near Mike's level. Kobe's a little more accurate from 3 point range than Jordan, but in every other meaningful category Jordan kills him. I think Kobe's defense is vastly overrated due in large part to the unwarranted Jordan comparisons. MJ was arguably the best defensive 2 guard in the league for most of his career. He's simply the total package: one of the most athletically gifted players of all time, his knowledge of the game was unsurpassed, and he's easily among the most dedicated, focused, and determined athletes in the history of sport. His comeback with the Wizards actually increased my appreciation for him - because you could see how he was still able to be among the game's best players even after his explosiveness faded. He lost his athletic edge over other players, yet his mental edge remained as sharp as ever. I doubt we'll ever see another NBA player compete at that level at the age of 39-40. He played in what I consider the greatest era of professional basketball to date and stood without peer.
   
   I may not wear the shoes these days, but I'll always be a Michael Jordan fan.

   Just coming by to say the donating this site does to charities and even involving members to help decide who gets the donation is phenomenal. I'm not with any particular charity but I donate here and there to different charity's on a monthly basis. It feels good to know that I'm supporting a site that gives back. thanks again

   Meth, I see NT has donated thousands and thousands of dollars to numerous charities. There is a charity that I am currently involed in at my job, and I would like to tell you about it. Its called "Living Water International". You may not know it, but every 15 seconds 80 people (Men, Women, Children and Infants) on this planet die from diseases caused from drinking dirty water, or simply having no water at all. People in undeveloped countries have to walk and or hike in all weather conditions for several miles just to fetch water for their everyday uses such as drinking and bathing. Keep in mind this water is dirty, brown, muddy and filthy. They do this once a day, and they usually get no more than 5 gallons a day. Living Water is a non profit organization that builds and repairs wells all around the world so people can have clean and healthy water. $1 is enough to provide 1 person with clean water for 1 year. $3000 repairs a well somwhere, and $5000 will build a new well. I don't know if its possible to make this one of NTs donations but I would love to hear that thousands of lives somewhere in Africa or South America have been saved all because of NT!!    Thanks so much for sharing this charity with us. Almost all of the charities we've donated to thus far have resulted either from specific suggestions from our fellow members or in response to general areas of interest they've expressed. I certainly agree that the implementation of water conservation and clean, sustainable water sources ranks among our most pressing and urgent challenges. We were thrilled that Free the Children include water projects as part of their work. You may recall that we made a $17,000 to help construct school buildings in Salabwek, Kenya. Part of that project actually included a rainwater recycling system, which uses the school's roof to facilitate rain collection. It would be difficult indeed to consider the school project a success if such a fundamental concern went unaddressed.
   
   We'll definitely consider Living Water International for a future donation. As I'm sure you know, we tend to plan our donations in advance and receive a great many suggestions from our fellow members. With so many wonderful organizations, I truly wish we could issue far more donations. Although we won't be able to issue a grant in the short term, as our next donation is already in the planning stages, we love to see our fellow members taking an interest in social and environmental responsibility - so please feel free to discuss the cause with other members. Ideally, we'd like to think of our donations as the tip of the iceberg. We can accomplish so much more together when we help encourage one another to learn about and directly support important causes like the one you've shared with us.
